Use a fictional principal amount and review the start date, maturity, currency and interest rate.
Check calculation settings
Identify the interest basis, payment frequency and any relevant calendars. Do not calculate interest from the rate alone.
Inspect the cash flows
Compare the initial amount, interest and repayment flows with the transaction terms.
Follow the accounting status
Review the permitted posting example and its accounting references. Separate a planned flow from a completed posting.

Which TRM exercise is suitable for a first session?
