FSCM learning: credit, disputes and collections

Financial Supply Chain Management connects customer credit and unpaid invoices with the next action. Start with one overdue invoice and understand whether it needs collection, dispute handling or a credit review.

BUILD THE FOUNDATIONS

Three things to understand

01

Customer credit

Understand the credit segment, credit limit and exposure behind a sales decision.

02

Dispute handling

Follow a payment difference through a case and its linked accounting item.

03

Collections follow-up

Read the worklist and decide what information a collector needs before contacting a customer.

AN EXAMPLE TO WORK THROUGH

Investigate a partly paid invoice

Use this independent example with your own learning material and the permitted practice data.

  1. Read the open item

Compare the invoice amount, due date and payment received using the same customer and company code.

  2. Understand the difference

For a sample invoice of 1,000 with a payment of 900, identify why 100 remains outstanding.

  3. Follow the correct process

If the practice scenario contains a dispute, inspect or create the permitted case. Otherwise, review the collections action appropriate to the example.

  4. Check both records

Compare the receivable with the case or worklist status. Explain whether the accounting balance actually changed.

Check your understanding

Can you explain why resolving a dispute and receiving a payment are different events?

HOW ERP SERVER ACCESS HELPS

Server access for hands-on learning

Practice access lets you follow an actual customer item through the available receivables tools. That is more useful than learning screen names without understanding the balance behind them.

Your access includes SAP_ALL for all functional transaction codes, SPRO configuration and ABAP development in our SAP S/4HANA 2023 practice system. Use your own learning material, with connection guidance and access support included.

Match the system to your exercise

Use the SAP receivables learning reference to distinguish an overdue item, a dispute case and a collection action. For your chosen task, record the business partner, open item, status and expected follow-up. Confirm the configured process and roles before assuming that an FI receivables login includes the full collections or dispute workflow. Open the SAP learning reference

Confirm which credit, dispute and collections functions are configured for your exercise. A customer invoice or FI login alone does not establish every FSCM workflow or role.

Bring your own learning material. Courses, exam vouchers, official assessment systems and certification awards are separate from this access service.

Learning and practice4 questions
What will I learn in this FSCM guide?

Financial Supply Chain Management connects customer credit and unpaid invoices with the next action. Start with one overdue invoice and understand whether it needs collection, dispute handling or a credit review.

Which learning route should I choose for FSCM?

Choose the business task: credit management, dispute management or collections. This guide links to SAP learning on disputes and collections rather than inventing one certificate for the whole FSCM label.

How is Collections Management different from dunning?

Collections supports worklists and customer follow-up. Dunning uses the configured reminder process. Their purpose and processing steps differ.

Does closing a dispute clear the invoice?

Not by itself in every scenario. Check the linked accounting item and the payment, credit or other posting that changes the balance.
