THE ESSENTIALS, CLEARLY EXPLAINED

What is SAP PP
server access?

SAP PP server access provides a user account for hands-on Production Planning practice in a shared SAP S/4HANA 2023 system. Connect using SAP GUI or SAP Fiori browser access, according to your assigned roles.

Use this PP practice system to explore MRP, BOMs, production orders, confirmations and production costs. Start with the topic map, then follow a complete learning route and inspect its business result.

Individual S/4HANA access is delivered in 2–5 minutes after successful payment. Bring your own learning material; courses and certification exams are separate.

PRODUCTION PLANNING · WHAT YOU CAN EXPLORE

Planning foundations.
Execution & production control.

A connected topic map for your SAP PP training and self-study. Open a topic for its business purpose, then choose the matching practice route below.

PP · PRACTICE MAP 01

Planning foundations

01Material planning data

Relate MRP type, procurement type, lot size and lead times to a planning result.

02Bills of material

Inspect component quantity, unit, validity and alternatives before exploding a production requirement.

03Routings & work centres

Connect operations, activity types, standard values and capacity to how a product is made.

04Production versions

Understand the selection of a valid BOM and routing combination for a production quantity and date.

05Demand management

Compare planned independent requirements with sales-driven demand and the chosen planning strategy.

06MRP evaluation

Read stock, receipts and requirements together, then investigate shortages and planning exceptions.

PP · PRACTICE MAP 02

Execution & production control

07Order creation & release

Follow a planned order into a production order and inspect scheduling, components and status.

08Component staging & issue

Compare reservations, available stock, manual issues and configured backflush behaviour.

09Operation confirmations

Relate yield, scrap, activities and confirmation status to order progress.

10Finished-goods receipt

Trace the produced quantity into inventory and inspect the related order documents.

11Capacity & sequencing

Compare operation load and work-centre availability without assuming advanced PP/DS is included.

12Order costs & closure

Relate consumption and activity costs to receipts, technical completion and settlement learning.

Plan the right practice scope. Production types and preconfigured planning data vary. Check discrete or process-manufacturing requirements before choosing access. The topics describe learning possibilities, not a guarantee that every feature, dataset or authorisation is included.

PRACTISE A BUSINESS PROCESS

The production cycle.
From starting data to result.

Choose an example route for SAP PP. Each includes starting requirements, explained steps and an outcome to check against your own learning material.

PP · 5 CONNECTED STEPS

Demand to finished goods

Connect a planning requirement to an executed production order.

START WITH

A finished material with a valid BOM, routing and production version.

THE RESULT TO EXPLAIN

Retain the production-order, issue, confirmation and receipt references. Compare planned quantity with confirmed yield, scrap and received quantity.

  1. 01
    Prepare the demand

Inspect planning strategy and the quantity and date in the exercise.

  2. 02
    Evaluate MRP

Read the resulting requirements and procurement proposals.

  3. 03
    Create the order

Convert the appropriate proposal and review components and operations. Check release status and required authorisations before execution postings.

  4. 04
    Execute production

Follow permitted component issues and operation confirmations.

  5. 05
    Receive and analyse

Post the finished-goods receipt and compare planned with actual quantities.

Use authorised practice records and the configured process for your course. These walkthroughs are learning guides; they do not perform actions in SAP.

A procurement proposal produced or adjusted during planning.

Production order

The executable order with components, operations and status.

Confirmation

The record of actual work, yield and related production progress.

A clear next step

Prepare your PP practice session

Use this checklist with your own learning material. Check the starting data, follow the permitted steps and compare the result.

Prepare the starting records

A finished material with a valid BOM, routing and production version. Check that these records belong to the permitted practice organisation. Note their identifiers and relevant dates so you can find the same starting point again.

Define the result before you act

Explain why the produced stock and component consumption changed. Write down which document, status, quantity or amount will demonstrate that result. Keep the same selection criteria when comparing your before and after views.

Investigate an unexpected result

Compare the first step where the outcome differs from your material. Check the object reference, organisational context, date, status and message before repeating the action. If the issue is an unavailable app or permission, record the exact requirement for support; do not assume more access time changes the system scope.

Keep a useful practice record

Save the exercise objective, starting references, actions you performed, final reference and a short explanation of the result. Repeat with one permitted change and describe its effect. Use synthetic or authorised data, and keep passwords and confidential business information out of screenshots.

Choosing access3 questions
What should I check before choosing SAP PP practice access?

Confirm whether your course uses discrete production orders or process-manufacturing orders. Check the material, plant, BOM, routing or recipe and production version before following MRP and execution; PP/DS and other advanced planning exercises require their own confirmed scope.

Can I request a free SAP PP demo?

Regular access plans are paid. You can request demo access by email or WhatsApp and ask our team to confirm the available scope. This is not an unlimited free practice system.

Do you sell ECC or IDES access?

No. ECC and IDES are comparison topics here. The current individual access plans use SAP S/4HANA 2023; check the edition required by your exercises.

CONNECT YOUR ACCESS WITH YOUR PREPARATION

PP processes to practise

These are example exercises to use with your own learning material. Before you start, confirm that the required apps, permissions and practice data are available.

01

Demand to finished goods

Check the practice material, plant, demand quantity and date. Review the planning proposal and create or convert the production order as specified by your exercise. Check components, operations, release status and permissions before execution. Follow the permitted component issues, confirmations and finished-goods receipt. Compare planned and actual quantities, order status and material documents; automatic goods movements depend on configuration.

Learning result: Reconcile component consumption and finished-goods receipt with the production order.
02

Component shortage

Identify the dependent demand and its required date. Inspect available stock, open receipts and timing differences. Follow the purchase or production proposal indicated by the plan.

Learning result: Explain the missing quantity and a supported replenishment response.
03

Confirm with scrap

Check the planned quantity and activity values. Record the authorised practice yield, scrap and activity values. Inspect related goods movements instead of assuming all were automatic.

Learning result: Explain confirmation quantities and their effect on order progress.

Match the qualification to your actual exercises. Production types and preconfigured planning data vary. Check discrete or process-manufacturing requirements before choosing access.
