THE ESSENTIALS, CLEARLY EXPLAINED

What is SAP MM
server access?

SAP MM server access provides a user account for hands-on Materials Management practice in a shared SAP S/4HANA 2023 system. Connect using SAP GUI or SAP Fiori browser access, according to your assigned roles.

Use this MM practice system to explore procurement, inventory, stock transfers and invoice verification. Start with the topic map, then follow a complete learning route and inspect its business result.

Individual S/4HANA access is delivered in 2–5 minutes after successful payment. Bring your own learning material; courses and certification exams are separate.

MM · PRACTICE MAP 01

Procurement & master data

01Material master

Connect purchasing, plant, storage, valuation and unit-of-measure views with the behaviour of a practice material.

02Business partners

Review supplier roles, purchasing-organisation data and company-code details before creating purchasing documents.

03Purchasing organisation

Distinguish company code, plant, storage location, purchasing organisation and purchasing group assignments.

04Source determination

Compare a source list, purchasing info record and outline agreement when deciding where a requirement should be procured.

05Purchase requisitions & orders

Move from a requested quantity to a purchase order; inspect item categories, account assignment and delivery dates.

06Contracts & scheduling agreements

Compare a value or quantity commitment with a schedule of planned deliveries.

MM · PRACTICE MAP 02

Inventory & financial control

07Goods receipts & issues

Explain how movement type, stock type and reference document affect quantity and value.

08Stock transfers

Distinguish storage-location transfers, plant transfers and stock transport orders; inspect the relevant document chain.

09Invoice verification

Match invoice quantity and price to order and receipt history, then investigate a tolerance or blocking reason.

10Physical inventory

Follow an inventory document through counting, recounting and a controlled difference posting in practice data.

11Special procurement

Explore configured subcontracting, consignment, returns and service-procurement examples without treating them as the same flow.

12Valuation & GR/IR

Relate stock value, price control and the goods-receipt/invoice-receipt clearing account to the purchasing history.

Plan the right practice scope. Use S/4HANA-compatible procurement exercises. Warehouse execution and invoice accounting depend on the connected module roles. The topics describe learning possibilities, not a guarantee that every feature, dataset or authorisation is included.

PRACTISE A BUSINESS PROCESS

The material journey.
From starting data to result.

Choose an example route for SAP MM. Each includes starting requirements, explained steps and an outcome to check against your own learning material.

MM · 5 CONNECTED STEPS

Procure to stock

Trace one stock material through the complete purchasing chain.

START WITH

Use approved supplier, material and plant data. Keep the purchase-order item and goods-receipt reference, plus the invoice reference, date, gross amount, currency and tax from your exercise.

THE RESULT TO EXPLAIN

Before a permitted invoice posting, compare quantity and price with PO history and check the balance. Keep the PO, material-document and accounting-document references to explain stock and GR/IR.

  1. 01
    Prepare the requirement

Review the material unit, plant and purchasing data before selecting a quantity.

  2. 02
    Create the order

Check supplier, price, delivery date and the stock item category.

  3. 03
    Receive the material

Reference the order in a goods receipt and inspect the resulting material document.

  4. 04
    Verify the invoice

Compare invoice quantity and price with purchase-order history.

  5. 05
    Explain the result

Read stock and accounting documents together, including the GR/IR balance.

Use authorised practice records and the configured process for your course. These walkthroughs are learning guides; they do not perform actions in SAP.

A clear next step

Prepare your MM practice session

Use this checklist with your own learning material. Check the starting data, follow the permitted steps and compare the result.

Prepare the starting records

A practice supplier, material, plant and open posting period. Check that these records belong to the permitted practice organisation. Note their identifiers and relevant dates so you can find the same starting point again.

Define the result before you act

Reconcile ordered, received and invoiced quantities. Write down which document, status, quantity or amount will demonstrate that result. Keep the same selection criteria when comparing your before and after views.

Investigate an unexpected result

Compare the first step where the outcome differs from your material. Check the object reference, organisational context, date, status and message before repeating the action. If the issue is an unavailable app or permission, record the exact requirement for support; do not assume more access time changes the system scope.

Keep a useful practice record

Save the exercise objective, starting references, actions you performed, final reference and a short explanation of the result. Repeat with one permitted change and describe its effect. Use synthetic or authorised data, and keep passwords and confidential business information out of screenshots.

Choosing access3 questions
What should I check before choosing SAP MM practice access?

Match your procure-to-pay exercise to the purchasing organisation, plant, material and supplier. Identify the purchase order, goods receipt and invoice result you want to follow; stock transfers, warehouse-bin execution and cross-company variants need their matching configuration.

Can I request a free SAP MM demo?

Regular MM access plans are paid. You can ask by email or WhatsApp about demo availability and scope; this is not an unlimited free practice system. For free exploration, compare SAP’s selected Public Edition trial scenarios with our S/4HANA 2023 practice access before choosing an environment for your exercises.

Do you sell ECC or IDES access?

No. ECC and IDES are comparison topics here. The current individual access plans use SAP S/4HANA 2023; check the edition required by your exercises.

CONNECT YOUR ACCESS WITH YOUR PREPARATION

MM processes to practise

Check your required scope, roles and practice data first. Use your own learning material to follow these routes and verify the resulting documents.

01

Procure to stock

Use a supplier and stock material with the required purchasing organisation, plant, storage location, quantity, unit and delivery date. Where your role and exercise allow, create the order in ME21N, record the goods receipt in MIGO and check the supplier invoice in MIRO. Compare all three in PO history. Inspect the material document and any accounting document created by a valuated posting.

Learning result: Reconcile PO, receipt and invoice quantities and explain the stock and value changes.
02

Consume against a cost centre

Check the cost centre, G/L account, quantity, price and dates. Use account assignment K for the cost-centre exercise. Before receipt, check whether the item requires a goods receipt and whether that receipt is valuated. Follow the configured receipt and invoice steps, then trace the expense to the cost centre and source document.

Learning result: Explain which receipt or invoice step created the cost-centre expense.
03

Move stock between plants

Check that your practice material is maintained for both plants, with available stock in the correct location and unit. Follow the route in your learning material: a one-step transfer, a two-step transfer or a stock transport order. Compare the issuing and receiving quantities and retain the document references. Check an interim balance only when the configured route creates one.

Learning result: Distinguish stock in transfer from stock in transit for the route you use.

Match the qualification to your actual exercises. Use S/4HANA-compatible procurement exercises. Warehouse execution and invoice accounting depend on the connected module roles.
