SAP SD — Before your first sales order

Customer and sales area
Use an assigned customer with the necessary sales data. Confirm the sales organisation, distribution channel and division.
Material and stock
Choose a saleable material in the relevant plant. The requested quantity, stock and delivery dates must suit the exercise.
Pricing and shipping
Use the configured pricing and shipping setup. A missing condition or shipping point can stop an otherwise valid order.

Example: sell 2 units from stock

  1. Create or inspect the order

Check the customer, material, quantity, price and confirmed date. Save the order reference.

  2. Prepare the delivery

Create the permitted delivery and complete its required picking steps.

  3. Post the goods issue

Check that shipping is ready before posting. Then inspect the stock movement and delivery status.

  4. Create and inspect billing

Use the correct preceding document and follow the billing document to its accounting reference where generated.

If something differs

The order is not due for delivery

Check confirmed quantity, shipping data, delivery block and selection date.

Billing cannot proceed

Review billing relevance, blocks, goods-issue requirements and the document’s status. Do not create duplicate orders to bypass the cause.
