SAP PS — Prepare a project you can explain

Project structure
Use an approved project profile and a unique practice reference. Keep the first structure small: for example, preparation and installation.
Organisation and dates
Confirm the company code, controlling area and planned dates. Add the plant and work centre if your exercise uses network activities.
Cost assignment
Know which WBS element or activity receives the cost. Use the permitted accounts, suppliers or resources from your exercise.

Example: plan a small equipment installation

  1. Build the WBS

Create or inspect two work packages: preparation and installation. Describe what belongs in each.

  2. Add dates and activities

Where the exercise uses a network, connect the activities in the order they should happen.

  3. Record one cost event

Inspect or enter an authorised purchase or activity posting assigned to the intended project object.

  4. Review the project report

Find the object, planned cost and relevant commitment or actual cost. Keep the source-document reference.

If something differs

The cost appears under another object

Check whether the posting belongs to a WBS element, network activity or assigned order.

A project change is blocked

Review the project status and permitted change scope before modifying profiles or settlement settings.
