SAP PP — Check the production master data

Material and components
Use a manufactured material with a suitable bill of material. A bill of material lists the components needed for the product.
Operations and resources
A routing describes the work steps and work centres. Check the relevant production version where your process uses one.
Stock and dates
Confirm available component stock, the plant and the planned production dates before releasing the exercise order.

Example: make 3 practice units

  1. Inspect the order

    Review the quantity, components, operations and planned dates.

  2. Release and prepare

    Follow the permitted release procedure and resolve relevant availability messages.

  3. Record production

    Post or inspect the required component consumption and operation confirmation. Automatic movements depend on the configuration.

  4. Receive the output

    Review the finished-goods receipt, stock change and order status. Compare the actual result with the order quantity.

If something differs

Components are missing

Check the plant, stock location, required quantity and material availability before changing the order.

Confirmation and stock disagree

Review automatic versus manual movement settings and any failed goods movements associated with the confirmation.
