SAP Learning Environment
A useful SAP learning environment brings together clear instructions, a compatible system and the right practice data. ERP Server Access supplies practice-system access; you bring the learning material. Start with one exercise and confirm its requirements.
The three parts of your setup
System access
A login to the relevant environment, with the apps and permissions your task requires. One named user on our shared SAP S/4HANA 2023 system, with SAP_ALL for all functional T-codes, SPRO configuration and ABAP development.
Practice data
The customers, suppliers, materials and documents used by the exercise. A familiar screen does not mean the sample data is the same.
Understand the details in your login guide
- System and client
- The system is the SAP environment you connect to. A client is a separate data and configuration area within a system; it is not a separate physical server.
- User and permissions
- Your named user identifies your account. Its permissions control which actions you can perform.
- SAP GUI and Fiori
- SAP GUI is a desktop connection interface. Fiori provides role-based applications, commonly through a browser. Use the route specified for your exercise.

Connect using your guide
Confirm the system and client from your portal, then sign in with your own details.
Open the required app
Use a small display task to confirm you can reach the screen required by your material.
Find the sample record
Check the assigned document or master-data reference. Resolve any missing data or access before starting a larger exercise.
When the setup does not match
Missing app or permission
Send support the app name, intended action and exact message. Avoid assuming that a module name includes every app.
Missing course data
Ask your course provider which records the exercise requires, then check whether they are available or can be prepared within your practice scope.

Is a learning environment the same as a course?
No. The environment is where you practise. A course or learning resource explains what to do and why.
What is the difference between master data and a document?
Master data describes reusable things such as a material or customer. A document records a particular business event, such as a purchase order or invoice.

Does each learner get a separate SAP server?
Individual access provides one named user on a shared system. A Dedicated Client is a separate SAP client, not a dedicated physical server.
Can I reset the whole practice system?
Do not assume that a reset is included or permitted. Ask about your specific data and reset requirements before arranging a workshop or repeat exercise.
Access and support2 questions
Will a Public Edition course or free trial match this environment?
Not automatically. Our shared SAP S/4HANA 2023 system is not a Public Edition tenant. SAP’s free Public Edition trial also excludes key-user customization, master-data management and external integration. If your material needs those tasks, check a corresponding course system or another suitable environment.
How do I get help with my setup?
Use the customer portal for your connection guide and support tickets. Explain whether the issue is signing in, opening an app or finding a record.
